You are hereby notified that an action has been filed in the District Court of Ellis County, State of Oklahoma, in Case No. CV-2025-23, styled Rose Anna Word, Plaintiff v. Dorothy M. Robertson, Lola Maxine Reynolds, Harley Russell Robertson, Danny Matthew Robertson, Hazel Diane Stafford, Bernha Annette Garland, Cloanna Kay Jones, Darwin Edmund Flock, Clovis Reynolds Smith, April Meeks, Danna A. Stafford, Douglas V. AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING TO THE PUBLIC USE ALL OF THAT
PORTION OF CEDAR STREET LYING APPROXIMATELY THREE HUNRED (300)
FEET SOUTH OF WEST FIFTH STREET IN EWING HEIGHTS ADDITION OF THE
TOWN OF SHATTUCK, ELLIS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA AND NORTH OF WEST
SIXTH STREET IN EWING HEIGHTS ADDITION OF THE TOWN OF SHATTUCK,
ELLIS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA AND ALLOWING SHATTUCK SCHOOL DISTRICT
FULL USE OF SAID STREET.
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF SHATTUCK,
OKLAHOMA;
SECTION 1. DECLARATION.
That all of Cedar Street lying approximately Three Hundred (300) feet South ofWest Fifth Street
located in Ewing Heights Addition of the Town of Shattuck, Ellis County, Oklahoma, according
to the recorded plate of said Addition as originally surveyed and shown of record in the plates,
duly recorded in the plat records of Ellis County, Oklahoma, it would be in the best

SECTION 2. VACATION.
That by authority ofTitle 11 O.S. § 42-108 and§ 42-110, et seq., the above-described street be
hereby vacated and closed to public use, and the Town of Shattuck, Ellis County,
Oklahoma is hereby released from any responsibility of maintaining said street.
SECTION 3. SCHOOL USE.
Shattuck Public Schools, an Oklahoma School, is hereby given a license to use the
surface of said street and alley for the construction of a new elementary school.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY.
The provisions of this Ordinance are severable, if any part or provision hereof shall be adjudged
invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudication shall not affect or impair any of
the remaining parts or provisions hereof.
SECTION 5. EMERGENCY.
That is being immediately necessary for the presentation of the public peace, health and safety of
the Town of Shattuck, Oklahoma and the inhabitants thereof, that the provisions ofthis
Ordinance shall be put in full force and effect, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by
reason whereof this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after its passage, approval
and publication.

The Ellis County Assessor is now taking applications for a full-time Field Appraiser position. Job requires both office and field work. Applicants need some computer experience, should be able to handle working primarily out in the field and will need to have good etiquette while working with the public/taxpayers. Interested parties should bring their application/resume to the Ellis County Assessor’s office in the Courthouse in Arnett, Oklahoma by May 15, 2026.
There are seven (7) accreditation courses with an exam after each course required to be completed within the first two (2) years of employment. Each course is three to five days long, requiring overnight stays at the classroom locations in Norman or Tulsa. Expenses paid by the county.
